Flamengo's youth team secured a perfect record in the U-15 Copa do Brasil. This Sunday, Mother's Day, the George Helal Training Center took another historic step by hosting a national competition match for the first time. Despite persistent rain, Flamengo fired up, defeating Atlético-GO 5-0, with goals from Brayan and Moraes (two each) and one from João Vitor. The Rubro-Negro reached nine points and qualified first in Group A7 of the competition. Their opponent in the Round of 100 will be Fluminense.

The Flamengo youth team started the match at a high pace, with tight marking. And it was this strategy that forced Atlético-GO's defense to falter. After a mix-up between the goalkeeper and the defender, the ball fell to Moraes, who pushed it into the net to open the scoring. Soon after, Bernardo almost extended the lead, picking up a loose ball and shooting from outside the area. In the 14th minute, Pavuna delivered a great pass to Deivid, whose shot was brilliantly saved by the goalkeeper.

The second goal almost came in the 18th minute when Deivid crossed and the ball fell to Pavuna, who shot. The defender saved the goal after the ball passed the goalkeeper. In another good play by Moraes, on the right wing, the ball refused to go in until Moraes himself managed to finish to make it 2-0 in the 26th minute. Three minutes later, Moraes hit the post and Brayan took advantage of the rebound to extend the lead: 3-0.

There was still time for one more. At 40 minutes, João Vitor was another to score after starting the play. He passed to Deivid, who shot, but the goalkeeper made the save. The defense failed to clear, and João Vitor finished the play. Shortly after, the referee ended the first half.

The team returned for the second half modified to rotate the team, due to the match against Botafogo next Wednesday (13), at 10 am, at Ninho do Urubu, for the Carioca Sub-15. There were five substitutions. Even so, with less than a minute of the second half, Matheus Eduardo had a great opportunity to make the fifth.

Flamengo continued to control the match and created good opportunities, but the goal wouldn't come due to a lack of precision in the shot or the final pass. At 29 minutes, José Marcelo made a good play on the right and took a curling shot; the ball went close to the far post and out of play.

The ball finally went in, at the 35th minute, when Brayan scored a beautiful goal. Before the end of the match, Matheus Eduardo came close to scoring, but the Atlético-GO goalkeeper made the save.

Flamengo: Fabricio Merede, Victor Hugo, Gustavo (Lucas), Walmir, Paulo Cezar, Bernardo, João Vitor (Moura), Pavuna (José Marcelo), Moraes (Matheus Eduardo), Deivid (Dadá) and Brayan. Coach: João Marcos.
