Flamengo's pre-junior team qualified without any major problems for the quarterfinals of the VI Taça Cidade de Rio Bonito last weekend. Undefeated in the first phase of the competition, the Rubro-negro will face Nova Iguaçu next Saturday (12.06), at 10:30 am, in Rio Bonito.
Last Saturday, already qualified, Flamengo faced CFZ. Undeterred, Flamengo imposed its rhythm from the opening minutes of the match and secured a 3-1 victory, with a goal from striker Adriano's younger brother, Thiago Ribeiro.
"There's no way to describe the happiness of scoring a goal wearing a Flamengo shirt," said the young striker.
In charge of the team, coach Leandro Rodrigues took advantage of the calm score and early qualification to carry out some tests and rest some players for the game next weekend.
"I tried to preserve some athletes with a view to the game against Nova Iguaçu, next Saturday. Furthermore, it is always important to give opportunities to all the players in our squad," he concluded.
