Flamengo qualifies for the Copa Rio semifinals in two categories
Victories over Portuguesa guarantee Rubro-Negro's place in the fight for the U-17 and U-15 finals

Flamengo will play in the Copa Rio semifinals in the under-15 and under-17 categories. To secure their places, the club won two victories over Portuguesa, this Saturday (18), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea. The under-17 kids beat the Ilha do Governador team 3-1, while the under-15 boys beat the same opponent 3-0.Flamengo's first goal in the U-17 match was scored by Victor Hugo, following a pass from Matheusinho, in the 45th minute of the first half. Portuguesa equalized in the 27th minute of the second half. The match remained tied until the 43rd minute, when Gabriel Amancio capitalized on an assist from Heitor and scored the second. Victor Hugo sealed the victory a minute later.
With the result, Flamengo reached the same 24 points as Botafogo and finished the qualifying round of the Copa Rio U-17 in fourth place. Flamengo's opponent in the semifinals will be Fluminense, who currently ranks first overall. The advantage in goal difference gave Flamengo third place, and they will face Vasco da Gama in the other group.
The U-15 team, the Ninho Boys, took the field shortly after the U-17 team and also defeated Portuguesa. Marcio opened the scoring in the 8th minute, giving João Marcos Fernandes' team some peace of mind. The Red-Black team, however, took a while to extend their lead. José Eduardo scored in the 21st minute of the second half and found the net again in the 31st.
Flamengo, ranked fourth, will face first-place Fluminense in the Copa Rio U15 final. The other match will be between Vasco da Gama and Botafogo.
