Buoyed by their opening victory, Flamengo's U-20s took to the field this Sunday to face Trindade in the second round of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. While they could have secured qualification, the team was defeated 1-0 and will now decide their situation in the final round against Jaguariuna, next Wednesday (09), at 16 pm. To qualify, Maurício Souza's team needs to win and will not depend on any result.
Trindade's goal was scored by Reginaldo after just five minutes. And that's exactly what the opposing team did throughout the match. Flamengo took control of the match, but ran into Vinícius's defense. Bill, who scored three goals on his debut, tested the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the second half, but his shot ended up weak. Even so, Wendel attempted a shot, but collided with the goalkeeper and missed the chance.

In both halves, it was all Flamengo. Maurício Souza tried to make changes to the team, taking off Reinier, Wendel, and Henrique and bringing on Rhyan, Yuri, and Marx, respectively. Flamengo continued to pressure Trindade and push for a goal, but the ball refused to go in. Mauricio made changes to the team's flanks, taking off Vitor Ricardo and Michael replaced Pablo and Matheus Alves. The team tried hard from distance, making it easy for goalkeeper Vinicius to save, which ultimately secured the reverse score for the opponents.
Next Wednesday, against Jaguariuna, Flamengo will play for its future in the competition. Their opponent is bottom of the group, with two losses in two games.
