The Garotos do Ninho U-14 team, led by coach Leonardo Cherede, debuted this Friday afternoon (14) in the category's Copinha, a national competition related to the Brazilian U-14 Championship. Despite being far superior to São Paulo throughout the match and creating countless scoring chances, Mais Querido ran into goalkeeper Leandro, who made a series of great saves, became the big name of the game and was the hero of the São Paulo team's 2-1 comeback victory (Matheus França). Flamengo remains alive in the competition and, by defeating Chapecoense (tomorrow) and Atlético MG (Sunday), who today drew 2-2 in the first round of Group A, based in Cotia, will be classified for the quarterfinals of the tournament. 

The red-and-blacks' first chance at goal came in the opening seconds of the match. Matheus França struck with his left foot, and goalkeeper Leandro made a save in two attempts. São Paulo responded in the third minute, when Kaiky made a great individual play and crossed for Lucca Pelosi, who shot over Dyogo's goal. The Boys from the Nest were the better team on the field and attacked in search of their first goal of the competition. In the 16th minute, João Vitor took a chance from the edge of the box, and Leandro saved it with his feet. The following minute, it was Victor Hugo's turn to take a free kick from the edge of the box, but Leandro made a good save.

After the technical timeout, the game remained unchanged. In the 33rd minute, Matheus França unleashed a powerful shot, which the São Paulo goalkeeper palmed away for a corner. The ball fell to the striker again, who fired a shot over the bar. A minute later, João Felipe sent a low cross into the box, but the ball went wide and no one was there to tap it into the back of the net. 

The Mais Querido kept up the pressure after the break. Just two minutes in, Petterson was fouled near the box. The ball was crossed into the box, and after a rebound, Vitor Muller took a first-time shot, which the defense cleared. Victor Hugo fired in the rebound, and the defense cleared the danger once again. 

Such superiority finally paid off in the ninth minute. In a superb attacking triangle for the red-and-blacks, which featured Victor Hugo and João Vitor, Matheus França picked up the rebound and slotted home, opening the scoring for the "Garotos do Ninho" (Nest Boys). But São Paulo equalized in the 23rd minute with Kaiky. 

Flamengo returned to the attack. In the 31st minute, Matheus França unleashed a bomb from outside the box, which Leandro parried. Áthila fired a first-time shot from the rebound, drawing another excellent save from Leandro. The rebound bounced off the defense and gracefully hit the post. Petterson picked up the rebound and crossed. Leandro, São Paulo's best player in the game, flew in and made his third consecutive save on the same play. A minute later, Petterson struck hard, and Leandro once again came to the rescue for the São Paulo team. 

However, from a penalty kick in stoppage time, São Paulo scored the winning goal, with André. There was still time for Petterson to have the red-and-black's last chance of the game. But Leandro, once again, made the save and was the hero of the tricolor's victory on its debut.
