Flamengo U-15 confirms favoritism and opens up an advantage over Portuguesa in the Carioca quarterfinals
Even playing away from home, Garotos do Ninho easily won 3-0 and put one foot in the semifinals.

In a match held on Sunday morning (16) at the Luso-Brasileiro Stadium, on Ilha do Governador, Flamengo's U-15 team, champion of the Guanabara Cup and led by coach Leonardo Cherede, easily beat Portuguesa 3-0 (David, Ítalo and Bidu), in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Carioca Championship in the category, and further extended its advantage in the confrontation. Next weekend, the Garotos do Ninho can lose by up to two goals and still qualify for the semifinals of the competition.
Mengão took the lead early in the first half. Shortly after the technical timeout, in the 27th minute, Tallyson crossed the ball into the box, Joshua hit it across the goal, and top scorer David, always perfectly positioned, slotted it into the back of the net. In the 35th minute, Tallyson passed to Ítalo, who fired a cross past goalkeeper Yuri, extending the lead for the Red-Blacks.
The Ninho Boys held on to their advantage in the second half, and despite not putting in much effort, they increased the score. In the 29th minute, Hidaka left Bidu one-on-one with the goal, and he calmly scored Mengão's third on the Island, finishing off another great victory for the U-15 team in the Campeonato Carioca.
