For the last timea In the Guanabara Cup Under-15 round, Flamengo was defeated by Nova Iguaçu 4-2 on Saturday afternoon (23), at Gávea. The Flamengo goals were scored by Pedrinho and Luan Andrey. With the result, Mais Querido finished the competition in third place and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Campeonato Carioca.

The game
Under intense heat in Gávea, the match began evenly, with both teams cautiously studying each other. In the 18th minute, Nova Iguaçu took the lead after a penalty kick by striker Pedro: 1-0. Trailing on the scoreboard, Flamengo pressed forward and equalized in the 26th minute. Pedrinho stole the ball in attack and placed a shot into the corner: 1-1.  

At the kickoff, the team from the Baixada Santista went on the attack and took the lead with a beautiful long-range goal from number 10, Iago: 2-1. At the very end of the first half, Nova Iguaçu extended their lead with a goal from Wdson on a counter-attack: 3-1.

At the start of the second half, Nova Iguaçu scored their fourth goal, again through Pedro: 4-1. In the 10th minute, Edimilson took a shot from outside the box, and the ball went just wide of the goalkeeper's left post. The Flamengo team tried to exchange passes in attack, but the opposing defense was well-organized and managed to cut off the plays. Then, in the 30th minute, Flamengo reduced the deficit. Edmilson took a shot from outside the box, the ball hit the post, and on the rebound, Luan Andrey didn't miss: 4-2.

Flamengo will face Vasco da Gama in the Carioca quarterfinals. Having finished ahead of their rival, Flamengo will have home advantage in the second leg.
