In matches valid for the fifth round of the Copa Rio, the U-17 and U-15 teams visited Bangu on Saturday afternoon (23) at the Moça Bonita Stadium, in the west zone of Rio. Mengão won both games, and continues to improve in both categories.

U-17 wins and can enter the G4 on Wednesday

Flamengo U-17, champion of everything in 2021, entered the field under intense heat, at 13 pm. Even trying to save themselves and play in a controlled manner, the Mais Querido largely dominated the match from the opening whistle, and won 6-0 (Adriel [2], Felipe, Iago, Lorran and an own goal), with a gala performance by number 10 Lorran.

Just two minutes into the game, Felipe, making his first appearance in the Manto Sagrado since the Brazilian national team's return, fired a low shot to open the scoring for Flamengo. Flamengo dominated the match but only scored again in the 38th minute, when Lorran pressured Bangu's ball out and passed to Adriel, who crossed the ball to extend the lead. Later in the first half, Lorran made a great individual play and passed it back to Adriel, who scored his second goal of the match.

Turns three, ends six. In the eleventh minute, defender Iago headed in Mengão's fourth. His goal was missing. In the 26th minute, Bill was brought down inside the box after a beautiful pass from Lorran. This time, he himself put the ball under his arms, displaced goalkeeper Caio, and scored the fifth. There was still time for Lorran to make another beautiful play, try to pass to Bill and see defender Kayque score an own goal, sealing the Rubro-Negro rout in Bangu.

U-15 wins another one with ease

Soon after, Mengão's U-15s, led by coach Leonardo Cherede, entered the field and achieved a comfortable and convincing 3-0 victory (Tallyson [2] and Gabriel), remaining within the G4 of the Copa Rio.

Looking to settle the game quickly, the Mais Querido opened the scoring after just four minutes with a goal from Tallyson. Just like with the U-17s, Flamengo dominated the game, but only managed to score the second goal in the 35th minute, again with Tallyson. In the second half, the Rubro-Negro simply managed the lead and extended their lead in the 16th minute with a goal from Gabriel. The two categories return to the field on Wednesday (27), when they host Boavista, in Gávea, in postponed games of the fourth round. FlaTV will broadcast both matches live and exclusively.
