Flamengo U-15 wins comeback and is in the Carioca semifinals

After being behind on the scoreboard twice, the red-blacks shone in the second half.

In a match marked by emotion, the Garotos do Ninho Sub-15 won this Thursday, in a comeback, against Madureira by 5 to 3 (aggregate score: 6 to 3), in Gávea, and confirmed their place in the semifinals of the Campeonato Carioca. Ryan Roberto (2), Matheus Tiago, Enzo and Pauaca. 

The opponent in the semifinal will be Vasco. The first match is scheduled for next Sunday (5), at CT do Artsul, in Austin. 

The game

After falling behind early in the game, the Ninho Boys raced for the equalizer. In the 15th minute, a superb corner kick from Davi led midfielder Matheus Tiago to a well-placed header between the defenders to make it 1-1.

Still in the first half, Madureira took the lead from the penalty spot. After the break, midfielder Jhefinho came on for Davi Waisman and changed the game. In the 15th minute, Ryan Roberto could have leveled the score, but the penalty was missed. Minutes later, the opposing team scored the third.

But Flamengo, through sheer effort and determination, turned the game around with three lightning-fast goals in a span of just five minutes. Enzo, with a header in the 28th minute, scored the second for Flamengo, following a corner kick by Ryan Roberto. Three minutes later, Ryan Roberto equalized for the Mais Querido, following an assist from Jhefinho. And the sensational comeback came from Pauaca, with a beautiful shot from the edge of the six-yard box.

To close out the well-deserved victory, Ryan Roberto, another standout player in the game, scored his second: 5-3.
