And the Garotos do Ninho U-15s debuted with a victory in the Guanabara Cup. Playing this Sunday, in the opening match of the doubleheader with the U-17s, Flamengo defeated Portuguesa 1-0 at the Luso Brasileiro stadium. Ryan Pablo scored the red-and-black goal in the 12th minute of the second half.
The game
In a first half where the opposing marking made Mengão's actions difficult, the best chances came from Jhefinho, in the 27th minute, with a pass from Davi and, in the 40th, when Matheus Tiago tried to surprise the goalkeeper with a shot from afar.
Looking to give the team more attacking options and explore the flanks of the field, coach Vinicius Durante made two substitutions at halftime with the entries of Matheus Guimarães and Ryan Gabriel.
Just two minutes in, Jhefinho nearly opened the scoring with a rocket from outside the box. With plenty of movement, Flamengo found its goal in the 2th minute. Diego's well-executed play from the right flank sent a low cross to forward Ryan Pablo, who scored.
After the technical break, the new changes took effect, especially with the introduction of fellow striker Victor Hugo. The player had two excellent opportunities, one of which hit the crossbar.
The next commitment for the Guanabara Cup will take place next Saturday (12), when they will face Boavista, at Cefan.
