Flamengo's U-16 team, led by coach Leo Ramos, took another step toward reaching the final of the Copa Brasileirinho Internacional U-17. Improving with each match in the competition, Mengão once again faced Monsoon (RS), the only opponent the Mais Querido had not beaten so far in the tournament (a 2-2 draw in the group stage), in a match valid for the round of 2 of the Copa Brasileirinho Internacional. This time, Mengão won 0-XNUMX, with two goals from Marcelinho.

Playing once again at Arena Gregorão, in Contagem (MG), Rubro-Negro was very offensive from the initial whistle of the match, and created numerous chances to open the scoring in the first half, without giving the opponent any chance to counterattack, who was only concerned with marking with all the lines very low.

The Ninho Boys maintained the same offensive intensity in the second half, but improved their accuracy. In the ninth minute, Germano made a great individual play and crossed into the box. Well-positioned, Marcelinho picked up the rebound after a defense cut and struck first time to finally open the scoring for Mengão.

The Mais Querido kept up the pressure and killed the game in the 32nd minute. Marcelinho played a one-two with Luan Andrey and slotted past goalkeeper Carlos Daniel to score his second goal of the game and third in the competition, securing a spot in the quarterfinals of the Copa Brasileirinho Internacional.

This Monday (04), Mengão returns to the field in search of a place in the semifinals of the competition. The opponent will be Serrano, from Petrópolis. The match takes place at 15 pm, at the Ailton de Oliveira Municipal Stadium, in Ribeirão das Neves. Whoever passes will face the winner of Cruzeiro x Atlético MG, in the fight for a place in the final.
