It's become routine. When Flamengo's U-17 team takes the field, the Nação Rubro-Negra (Red-Black Nation) is already preparing to celebrate many goals. So far in the 2021 season, they have scored 54 goals in just 18 games. Four of them came on Tuesday afternoon (31), in the 4-0 rout (Victor Hugo [2], Vinícius and Petterson) over Gama (DF), in a match played at Defelê Stadium, in Brasília, and valid for the first leg of the round of 7 of the Copa do Brasil in that category. With the huge advantage gained in the first leg, Mais Querido hosts the Brasília team at Gávea, next Tuesday (10) at XNUMX am. Confirming their qualification, Mengão will face the winner of the clash between Sport and Cruzeiro in the quarterfinals, who play the first leg this Tuesday night.

With their first real scoring opportunity, the Garotos do Ninho opened the scoring. The goal came from the division's top scorer in the 2021 season. In the 15th minute, Rodriguinho sent in a low cross, and Lucas Matheus narrowly missed the goal. Following the play, Victor Hugo headed the ball, and goalkeeper Hudson made a spectacular save. On the rebound, Victor Hugo outwitted the defense and got in front of him to finish with his right foot, scoring the club's first goal in Brasília, and their 13th of the season. Gama had their first shot on target in the 22nd minute, with a powerful shot from Natã. Club goalkeeper Gustavo Jundi parried the ball, and Darlan then cleared the danger.

But Flamengo was the one attacking more. The second almost came in the 28th minute, when Victor Hugo played a fine pivot to set up Lucas Matheus, who fired a shot with great awareness and out of Hudson's reach. In the 21st minute, Mengão extended their lead. The goal came when two players who had just come on got their first touch on the ball. João Filipe received the ball in midfield, took a shot from outside the box, and saw goalkeeper Hudson tap it in. On the rebound, Vinícius was alert and well-positioned to finish into the back of the net for Mais Querido's second goal of the match. 

The Ninho Boys wanted more. In the 25th minute, Petterson received the ball in the box, faced his marker, cut to his left foot, and shot across goal, leaving Hudson with no chance to save, making it 3-0 for Mengão. In the 30th minute, the rout turned. Petterson was brought down in the box, and Victor Hugo converted the penalty, displacing the goalkeeper, and scored the fourth goal for the red-and-black team, rounding off the rout of the Mais Querido in Brasília.
