In their debut game in the Under-17 Guanabara Cup, Flamengo thrashed Portuguesa, this Sunday, at Ilha do Governador by a score of 8 to 1. Luan Andrey (2), Menegatti, Douglas, Bill (2) and Felipe Lima (2) scored the goals for Mais Querido.

Despite the scare after just one minute of play, when they fell behind on the scoreboard, the team led by coach Leo Ramos did not give up and turned the game around after just 1 minutes, with Luan Andrey, after taking advantage of a rebound from Bill's header that hit the post, and Menegatti, with a strong shot from outside the area. 

And the goals continued to come right after the technical timeout. In the 25th minute, Douglas scored the third after a play down the right flank. Bill, in the 31st minute, with a shot down the left flank, and Luan Andrey, in the 34th minute, with a shot also from outside the box, added the fourth and fifth.

With the first-half result solidified, coach Leo Ramos made four substitutions at halftime. In the 4th minute, Bill headed in his second goal of the match. Striker Felipe Lima, who came on during the second half, made his mark twice. The first time, he took on the defender and fired a shot into the goalkeeper's right corner. The second time, he got ahead of his defender and, with his right foot, sealed the victory.

Flamengo turns the key and now turns its attention to next Wednesday's match against Internacional, at 18 pm, in Volta Redonda for the Brazilian Championship of the competition.

For the Guanabara Cup, the match will be on Saturday (12), against Boavista, at Cefan.
