Flamengo's U-17 team, led by coach Leo Ramos, hosted Ceará on Wednesday afternoon (31) at Gávea, in a duel valid for the fifth round of the Brazilian Championship in the category. In a very open match with many goals, the Garotos do Ninho won 5-3 (Rayan Lucas, Euder, Daniel, Wallace Yan and Lorran) and returned to second place in Group B of the competition, with 10 points. Next week, Mengão hosts Atlético MG, again at Gávea, in a direct duel for the isolated leadership of the group.

Game with many goals in Gávea

Ceará opened the scoring in the 18th minute, with a header from defender Gilmar following a corner kick. In the 29th minute, Daniel Sales burst into the box and fired a cross. Goalkeeper João Bezerra parried, and Euder fired over the rebound.

Mengão turned the game around in the first half. In the 44th minute, Rayan Lucas took a shot from outside the box to level the score. Soon after, in the 46th minute, Euder beat João Bezerra to score the second goal for Mais Querido.

In the first minute of the second half, Daniel struck a beautiful shot from outside the box, extending the Red-Blacks' lead. A minute later, Wallace Yan received the ball at the edge of the box, beat his marker, and fired a low shot for Mengão's fourth goal of the match. Soon after, Renan pulled one back for the Ceará team.

The best was yet to come. In the 17th minute, Lorran scored another stunning free kick, slotting the ball into the left corner of the Ceará goal, leaving João Bezerra with no chance to save. Ceará pulled one back in the 37th minute, with a goal from Maranhão, which sealed the final score.
