In a national classic held this Saturday afternoon (16) at SESC Alterosas, in Belo Horizonte, Flamengo's Under-20 team drew 0-0 with Atlético MG. The duel was valid for the sixth round of the Brazilian Championship in the category. With 11 points earned, Mengão remains in third place in Group A, within the qualifying zone for the quarter-finals of the competition.

Before hosting Bahia for the seventh round, Mais Querido faces Volta Redonda on Wednesday (20), at Gávea, in the first leg of the Taça Rio final. FlaTV will broadcast the live and exclusive game, at 14:45 PM.

The game 

 

The first half was uneventful, with few scoring opportunities. With tight, high pressing, Flamengo were superior and created the two best chances. In the 29th minute, Werton carried the ball and shot low from the edge of the area, but it hit the side netting. And in the 45th minute, it was striker Ryan Luka who tried his luck from inside the area, but the shot went over the Atlético goal.

 

Atlético MG came close to scoring in the 10th minute of the second half with a shot from Yan Philipe. Flamengo's goalkeeper, Kauã Morais, was alert and parried the ball for a corner. In the following minute, Felipe Felicio unleashed a powerful shot, and Kauã Morais made a save in the top corner. Making a great save.

 

At 21 minutes, Caio Ribas took a close-range shot, and Kauã Morais made a spectacular save. After that, the game became very balanced again, with no major scoring opportunities for either team.
