In a match valid for the 7th round of the Guanabara Cup, Mengão U-20 drew 0-0 with Volta Redonda, in Gávea. Despite the result, Flamengo remains unbeaten and maintains the championship lead with 19 points. The next game for the regional championship will be on Saturday (27), against Vasco, away from home.

The game

The first half was marked by a very evenly matched performance. Despite intense study by both sides, the opposing defense lacked space, making it very difficult for Mengão to create chances. Goalkeeper Raphael also struggled, as the red-and-black defense managed to contain Volta Redonda's momentum.

The first good chance fell to Rodriguinho, who beat his marker, found an opening, and fired a dangerous shot over the goal.
