The Boys of the Nest are ready! In training held this Friday morning (11) at CT do Oeste, in Barueri, the Mengão U-20 team made the final adjustments, under the command of coach Mario Jorge, for the grand final, in a single match, of the Copa do Brasil in the category. The decision against Palmeiras takes place this Saturday (12), at 11 am, at Arena Barueri, with live broadcast on SporTV.
Despite playing severely understaffed throughout the competition, the Mais Querido reached the final undefeated, boasting a near-perfect record of six wins and only one draw. Along the way, the Rubro-Negro defeated Aster Brasil (ES), América MG, Fluminense (PI), and Ceará (CE). Palmeiras will have home advantage in the final due to their better record, with seven wins in seven games.
"We expect a great game. Both schools have been able to produce great matches throughout their youth and professional football careers. Tomorrow will be no different. We're ready and highly motivated. I'm sure it will be a great match. I hope we can celebrate a lot at the end," said coach Mario Jorge.
