In a match held on Wednesday morning (6), in Gávea, Flamengo's U-20 team beat Bangu 4-0 (Wesley, Vinícius, Petterson and Daniel Cabral), and with an aggregate score of 4-1 in the sum of the two games, guaranteed their classification for the final of the Taça Rio. The opponent in the final will come from the clash between Volta Redonda and Nova Iguaçu. On Saturday (9), Mais Querido changes the key and returns to the field for the Brazilian Championship, receiving Cruzeiro, in Gávea, at 11 am, with live broadcast on SporTV. 

The match against Bangu saw the red-and-blacks dominate from the first minute, when Mengão nearly opened the scoring with a Ryan Luka header that hit the post. The Boys from the Nest were very attacking and created good scoring opportunities, but only managed to break the deadlock in the 44th minute, when Wesley received the ball from Daniel Cabral and scored a stunning left-footed shot from mid-range. This time, goalkeeper Gabriel Barbosa, Bangu's standout performer in both matches, was unable to make the save. 

Flamengo remained in full control of the game in the second half. In the 17th minute, Wesley crossed for Vinícius, who headed in a stylish header to extend Flamengo's lead. In the 27th minute, Dyogo delivered a beautiful pass to Petterson, who beat his marker and fired a confident shot into the left corner of the Bangu goalkeeper's net, a goal reminiscent of the Brazilian U-17 title against Vasco last year. In the final play of the match, Daniel Cabral delivered a masterful free kick into Gabriel Barbosa's top corner, sealing another Flamengo victory in 2022.
