Flamengo U-20 thrashes Fortaleza and confirms qualification for the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Championship
After a 5-0 victory, Garotos do Ninho will go in search of leadership in the first phase

In the penultimate round of the group stage of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, Flamengo thrashed Fortaleza 5-0 on Sunday afternoon (3), at Gávea. Mengão's goals were scored by Lázaro (twice), Kayke David, Andre and Thiaguinho. If they win their last two games, against Athletico-PR and Chapecoense, both away from home, Mais Querido will guarantee first place in the qualifying phase.
The game
Under intense heat in Gávea, the match began evenly and with a lot of physical play in midfield. At 11 minutes, Daniel Cabral took advantage of a rebound from the goalkeeper and tried a shot from outside the area, but the ball went over the goal. Soon after, Flamengo opened the scoring! Matheus França made a good play on the right and crossed into the area, the ball fell to Lázaro who unleashed a powerful shot into the top right corner of the goal to score a fantastic goal: 1-0.
At 23 minutes, Flamengo extended their lead. Matheus França exchanged passes with Lázaro inside the area and delivered a low cross. Kayke David, well-positioned, simply had to tap the ball into the back of the net: 2-0. After taking a two-goal lead, the Flamengo youth team slowed the game down and began to exchange passes with more composure.
At 42 minutes, another good play by Lázaro inside the area. The number 10 from Gávea dribbled past the defender and shot hard. Goalkeeper Hugo had to stretch to prevent the third Flamengo goal. The first half ended with Flamengo dominating, leading by two goals.
The second half had barely started when Flamengo scored their third! Lázaro provided a beautiful assist for Andre, who entered the box and shot into the corner of the goal: 3-0. Shortly after, the beloved team scored their fourth! Daniel Cabral launched the ball to Lázaro inside the box, who controlled it with the tip of his boot and shot powerfully into the corner to score his second goal of the game: 4-0.
The Flamengo youth team were hungry for goals and, in the 12th minute, they extended their lead even further. After a corner kick from the left, the ball fell to Thiaguinho, who shot low from outside the area into the goalkeeper's right corner: 5-0. In the final stretch of the game, Flamengo managed the result and left the field with an important victory.

Flamengo returns to the field on October 12th to face Athletico-PR at 15 PM at CT do Caju-PR, for the final round of the group stage of the Brazilian U-20 Championship.
