In a classic valid for the ninth round of the Guanabara Cup in the category, Flamengo's U-20 team lost 2-0 to Fluminense. With the result, Mais Querido no longer has a chance of winning the Guanabara Cup title, but only needs a simple victory over Resende, next Friday (27), in Gávea, to confirm its classification for the quarterfinals of the Campeonato Carioca.

Flamengo outplayed Fluminense throughout the first half and missed good opportunities to open the scoring. Just five minutes in, Werton sent a low cross, and Mateusão was inches too late with a slide tackle. In the 25th minute, after a good triangulation, Daniel Cabral passed to Werton, who fired a cross to the left of the Tricolor goal. The home team opened the scoring in the final play of first-half stoppage time, with Kennedy scoring.

In the second half, the game was more evenly matched, with few scoring chances for either side. In the 24th minute, goalkeeper Bruno conceded a penalty on Miguel Vinicius and was sent off. Miguel Vinicius himself took the shot. Dyogo Alves saved, but the striker collected the rebound to seal the match.

Flamengo: Bruno, Wesley, Diego, Cleiton, Marcos Paulo (Zé Wellinton); Igor Jesus (Santiago), Daniel Cabral, Matheus Gonçalves (Jean Carlos); Werton (Dyogo Alves), André (Kayke David) and Mateusão (Ryan Luka). Coach: Mario Jorge.
