After the Under-15 thrashing, the Flamengo Under-17 team also performed beautifully and showed why they are the current Brazilian champions. In the Guanabara Cup for the category, Mengão beat Portuguesa 3-0 on Thursday morning (26), at CEFAN. The goals for Mais Querido were scored by Lucas Matheus, Darlan and Vinicius. With the result, Mengão continues with 100% success in the championship with two wins in two games. It is worth noting that the match was valid for the first round of the competition, which had been postponed.

The game
The Flamengo youth team started the match passing the ball around in the attacking half, and it didn't take them long to open the scoring. In the 12th minute, Marquinhos took a corner kick to the far post, Lucas Matheus rose higher than his marker and headed the ball in to make it 1-0 for Flamengo.

With the advantage, the Flamengo team had the composure to pass the ball from foot to foot, searching for spaces to penetrate the Portuguesa defense, which relied on counter-attacks. At 28', Petterson made a good run down the left and passed to Victor Hugo, who shot first-time, forcing the goalkeeper to stretch fully to prevent Flamengo's second goal.

At 35', Petterson took a beautiful free kick and the ball hit the post. The home team completely dominated their opponent, managing to score their second goal before halftime. At 37', Petterson took a corner from the left and Darlan headed it in to make it 2-0.

At the start of the second half, Flamengo continued to pressure Portuguesa and almost extended their lead through Lucas Matheus. Victor Hugo made a good play down the right side of the box and passed to Lucas, who controlled the ball, turned, and shot wide. Flamengo continued to create numerous opportunities and pinned their opponents back in their own half.

At 21 minutes, Flamengo extended their lead! João Filipe found Vinicius in a great position, the striker entered the area and delicately chipped the ball past the goalkeeper: 3-0. With a solid and consistent performance, the current Brazilian U-17 champions left the field with a victory.

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Saturday (28) to face Madureira, at 13 pm, in Conselheiro Galvão, for the third round of the Guanabara Cup Under-17.
