The Brazilian Under-20 Championship is in the final stretch of the qualifying phase. In search of one of the spots in the round of 10, Flamengo will face Botafogo this Thursday (18), at 17 pm, at the Luso Brasileiro Stadium, for the XNUMXth round of the competition. The classic will mark the debut of coach Bruno Pivetti in charge of the red-black team.

Flamengo's new coach began his work last Sunday (6), when he led his first training session at CT George Helal. At 41, Pivetti has been a professional coach since 2020 and was the Paraná state champion with Operário this season, breaking a ten-year drought for the Ponta Grossa club. He has previously worked for Vitória, Guarani, Náutico and Chapecoense, among others.

Flamengo, currently seventh in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship with 26 points, is not in danger of being overtaken in this round and will move up at least two places with a win against Botafogo. In the previous match, Flamengo lost 2-1 to Red Bull Bragantino in Bragança Paulista. Botafogo, meanwhile, sits in 11th place with 22 points and is riding high after a 4-0 home win over Grêmio at Nilton Santos Stadium.
