After starting the match on the attack and coming close to opening the scoring, Flamengo conceded the only goal of the game at the start of the second half, had midfielder Ikaro sent off and were beaten 1-0 by Fluminense. The match, valid for the second round of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship, was played this Tuesday (2), at the Luso Brasileiro Stadium, on Ilha do Governador.

Flamengo played offensively from the start and created a dangerous chance just 4 minutes in. Bernardo went down the right flank and crossed for Luiz Guilherme to head just wide of the post. At 7 minutes, Isaac made another run down the right, crossed low into the box, and the defense cleared it for a corner.

Flamengo had another opportunity in the 15th minute, with a shot from the edge of the area by Davi Fraga, well saved by the Fluminense goalkeeper. Five minutes later, the goal almost came. Luiz Guilherme forced another save from the opposing goalkeeper, and then Paulo César shot over the bar after an incredible scramble inside the area.

Fluminense's first dangerous attack came in the 26th minute, when the ball hit Werneck's right post after a shot by João Pedro. On the rebound, Gabriel shot again, this time wide to the left. The game then became more balanced, without any particularly decisive offensive plays from either side.

After the break, the pace picked up. Fluminense attacked, Flamengo responded with an individual play by Isaac, but it was the opponent who scored the goal, with a shot by Carlos Miguel in the 2nd minute. Flamengo went in search of an equalizer and, in the 13th minute, Luiz Guilherme challenged the goalkeeper for the ball, which went out of bounds. Bernardo crossed from the right and Luiz Guilherme couldn't reach the ball to head it in the 19th minute. Ikaro was sent off in the next opponent's attack for committing a foul. In another Flamengo attack, Pedrinho stole the ball and passed it into the middle of the area. Before the ball arrived, the opposing defense cleared it for a corner in the 30th minute.

With an extra player, Fluminense tried to maintain control of the attacking third and pressure Flamengo's build-up play, while Flamengo fought hard to win duels and attempt offensive plays. Towards the end of the match, Flamengo showed more attacking presence, pressing until the final whistle, but the equalizer eluded them.
