The U-20 Boys of Ninho turned their Brazilian Championship campaign around with a solid 3-1 victory over Cuiabá-MT this Thursday at Gávea Stadium. The red-and-black goals were scored by Hassan, Carbone, and Welliton.

Flamengo will return to the field next Wednesday, against Palmeiras, at 15:15 pm, in Gávea, for the third round of the competition.

The game

After the unexpected defeat in their opening match, the Flamengo youth team came out swinging in today's match. With the Nigerian duo playing at a high pace on the wings, Flamengo scored in the 9th minute with a shot from the edge of the box by Hassan. A stunning goal! This was the striker's second goal in the Brasileirão.

In the 23rd minute, the opponent equalized with a penalty kick. But the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) remained undeterred and scored twice more in the first half. After a free kick from Jean Carlos on the right, defender Carbone rose to head the ball into the back of the net. In the 46th minute, forward Welinton added the third after an assist from Ainoã.

With a solid lead, Mário Jorge's team controlled the game well in the second half. They maintained their territorial dominance, and the coach took advantage of the situation to make several substitutions.
