Another victory for the Garotos do Ninho U-17s, led by coach Filipe Luis. In a second-round match of the Copa Rio, this Saturday in Gávea, Flamengo defeated Volta Redonda 1-0, with a goal from striker Douglas Telles. 

The red-black team will return to the field next Saturday (23), to face Vasco, at the Artsul field, in Austin, for the 3rd round of the Copa Rio Sub-17.

Game summary

Facing a very dedicated defensive opponent, Flamengo looked for space, mainly on the right side. At 11, AIan Santos nearly scored the first goal with a good play. Joshua, on two great occasions, nearly opened the scoring. 

At 42, there was no way out. A well-worked play on the right by Douglas Telles, who exchanged passes with Joshua and beat the goalkeeper: 1-0.

Due to the intense heat above 35 degrees, exceptionally, two technical stops were carried out in the first and second half.

With the score in their favor, Flamengo looked for some opportunities to score. The best of them was a blizzard.tz do Mais Querido, two consecutive balls on the crossbar, with Alan and Joshua.
