The game
The match was evenly matched in the first 45 minutes. Even with more possession, Flamengo struggled to find space in Coritiba's defense. With key plays created by Luiz Henrique, Yuri, and Bill, Flamengo pressed their opponents until the final minutes.
Likewise, goalkeeper Yago Darub needed to be alert to Coritiba's shots, which were dangerous on a few occasions and ultimately stopped by the Flamengo goalkeeper. Without giving up much space, Flamengo held their opponents at bay when necessary, but struggled to break through the Paraná team's block. Thus, the score remained 0-0 before halftime.
The final period remained tight and competitive for both teams. With good chances for both sides, the game opened up, and it was up to defender Bernardo to change the course of the match. In the 32nd minute, Yuri fought for the ball and blocked it from clearing the goal line. He then crossed directly to the number 13, who deflected it into the back of the Coritiba net.
With dramatic overtones, the match continued with great opportunities for both teams, with the goalkeepers excelling. In stoppage time, Hugo Moura had a chance to extend his lead with a penalty kick, but his shot was saved. The final whistle, however, sealed the Red-and-Blacks' qualification for the round of 1: 0-XNUMX.
