The Boys from Ninho showed a lot of fighting spirit, beating Corinthians 2-1 away from home, and qualifying in third place for the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. Ryan Roberto and João Vitor scored the winning goals for Flamengo, in the duel played at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium (Fazendinha), located in Parque São Jorge, in São Paulo.

Flamengo's opponent in the fight for a spot in the semifinals will be Atlético-MG, who finished sixth. According to the rules, the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship are played in a single match, with no advantage for either team. Flamengo will have home advantage, having qualified better than Atlético-MG.

Flamengo's first dangerous attack came in the fourth minute, when Ryan Roberto ran down the left, sent a cross-shot that the goalkeeper palmed away for a corner. Corinthians responded twice in quick succession in the tenth minute, with Nicolas and then Cristian.

In the 16th minute, Ryan Roberto took a shot, and the Corinthians goalkeeper worked again. In the 19th minute, Jhefinho fired a shot from outside the box, over the crossbar. Flamengo was circling the São Paulo team's box, but the goal was eluded by the slightest of chances.

Until, in the final seconds of the first half, Ryan Roberto burst down the left, dribbled past two players, and fired a powerful shot over the bar from the edge of the six-yard box to score his 11th goal in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. It was the last play before the referee blew the whistle for halftime.

Corinthians came out strong just one minute into the second half, with Kawe firing over the bar. Two minutes into the second half, Ryan Roberto nearly scored again. After dribbling past two opponents, the striker struck a powerful shot that was brilliantly saved by Milani, Corinthians' number 1. A few seconds later, João Vitor burst into the box from the left and crossed. The ball crossed the six-yard box, but no one was there to score.

The game opened up, and Corinthians went on the attack and threatened twice, both in the 7th minute, with shots wide. Four minutes later, Gabriel Werneck made a beautiful save in the right corner after palming away a shot from number 10 Guilherme Amorim. And the São Paulo team threatened again with two corner kicks.

The opponent stepped up their game significantly and began to pressure the red-and-black team. The response came with a swift counterattack. João Vitor broke away toward goal, was brought down, and conceded a penalty as he was about to score. João Vitor himself took the shot, leaving no chance, and extended the lead in the 19th minute.

The second goal for Flamengo dampened Corinthians' momentum, but they still had a chance to score through number 19 Kayke in the 28th minute. Meanwhile, Flamengo tried to quickly break away on the counterattack. Gabriel Werneck made another important save in the 31st minute, stopping a shot from Kawe. On the following play, defender Iago Machado pulled one back.

Flamengo came out on top in the 37th minute. João Vitor found striker Pedro inside the box, but the opposing goalkeeper managed to get in front. Corinthians needed a draw to qualify and tried to attack. Flamengo, however, was the one who threatened, with Enzo's shot hitting the left post. In stoppage time, on the final dangerous play, Pedro again demanded the Corinthians goalkeeper, who made a difficult save. The referee then ended the match.
