Flamengo beat Madureira this Saturday (7) by a score of 2-0. Alan Santos, in the first half, and Wanderson, in the second, scored the goals in the match, valid for the sixth round of the Taça Guanabara Sub-17. The victory happened even though the team played with one player less since the middle of the first half.

The game
The match began with Flamengo pressing the ball out, resulting in a corner kick in the first minute. Full-back Wanderson's shot was held by goalkeeper Jhonny. Madureira responded with an attack down the left. Oto found Rafael, who crossed into goalkeeper Eduardo Jung's hands.

Five minutes in, Pablo made a good triangle and found Douglas Telles on the edge of the box on the right. The number 7 sent a dangerous cross shot wide, scaring the opposing defense.

The visiting team struggled to organize the ball due to the tight midfield marking of the Ninho Boys. Pablo misplaced a pass in the middle, sparking a Madureira counterattack. Matheus Silva's shot at the end of the play resulted in a corner. The shot at the far post was cleared by the defense, and as the play continued, Madureira's attack ended up committing a foul.

The first half's action was concentrated in the central zone, with Flamengo's defensive players spending more time with the ball, while when it was in possession, Madureira's possession was quickly processed, with few touches on goal. A mistake in one of these passing exchanges resulted in a corner kick for the Tricolor team in the 27th minute. Rafinha took the kick, and Douglas Telles cut it out for a throw-in. Following this, in a back-and-forth situation, another attack from the right. A cross into the Flamengo box was mishandled by the defense, and Matheus Silva fired a powerful shot. Eduardo Jung palmed it away, and Lucas Vieira shot away, clearing the danger.

The score deficit increased the visiting team's anxiety, as they were unable to translate their increased possession into dangerous plays. The rush to equalize the score diminished their passing accuracy. Flamengo sought to extend their lead through quick runs and counterattacks. The defensive duo of Jhonny and Pedro, playing with great maturity and in sync with full-backs Wanderson and Luiz Phellipe, managed to minimize their opponents' momentum.

Coach Eduardo Zuma made changes to his team to restore consistency in both his attacking and defensive systems. He also complained vehemently to the refereeing team and was eventually shown a yellow card. Caio Gomes replaced Douglas Telles, and Kauã replaced Lucas Vieira.

Madureira also made changes, with Anderson Marlon replacing Matheus Silva, Coutinho replacing Gabriel and Matheus replacing Rickelme.

It was 22 minutes in when Coutinho received the ball on the left, took it to the middle at the edge of the box, and shot low. The ball grazed goalkeeper Eduardo Jung's right post.

With five minutes remaining, Fred came on for Alan Santos. In Madureira, it was Kauã Ramos' turn to replace Oto. Flamengo's Kaio Gomes committed a hard foul and also received a yellow card.

Madureira insisted on direct passes, sending their wingers into action in search of a goal, but Flamengo remained alert to their passing, leaving no room for misfortune. In the final play of the match, in the 48th minute, Matheus took a free kick that crossed into the box, Eduardo Jung rose highest and grabbed it firmly. With that, the referee blew the final whistle.
