On Wednesday (17) in a double round of games for the Garotos do Ninho in Gávea, Flamengo, which had already achieved a victory with its Under-20 team in the morning, defeated São Paulo in the Under-17 Brasileirão by 1x0 and secured its classification for the knockout stage of the Championship.

The red-and-black team secured their victory in the first minute of the match, after João Vitor capitalized on Ryan Roberto's cross from a corner kick and scored the only goal of the match. With today's victory, the Mengão youth team now has 34 points in the competition and occupies 4th place in the table, behind Atlético-MG, which has the same number of points but is ahead due to goal difference (Atlético's +22 to Flamengo's +16).

The next match in the competition will be on the 23rd, away from home, against Corinthians, in the 19th and final round of the first phase.
