After a thumping 6-1 win in the first leg away from home, Mengão returned to the field this Sunday and defeated their rivals 1-0, with a goal from Luiz Guilherme. The striker is the competition's top scorer with 13 goals.
In the next phase, Mais Querido will face the Nova Iguaçu team. The first game is scheduled for next Saturday (2), at the opponent's home.
In a first half dominated by strong marking from both teams, the red-and-black team's best opportunity came from Rafael Tenorio. The number 10 shot from the edge of the box, but the ball went just wide of the goalkeeper's post.
