Flamengo defeats Boavista and is the champion of the Guanabara Under-17 Cup

The red-blacks scored twice and won another trophy for Gávea.

Flamengo is the champion of the Guanabara Under-17 Cup. In a match played this Tuesday at Gávea, the red-and-blacks defeated Boavista 2-1, securing first place and, consequently, the championship trophy. Pablo and Douglas Telles scored the goals for the Boys of the Nest in the second half. 

Check out the kids' successful campaign: 11 games; 9 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. With 27 goals scored and 16 conceded. 

Following this victory, Flamengo will return to the field next weekend for the first leg of the Carioca Championship quarterfinals. The team, led by coach Daniel Franklin, will face Nova Iguaçu at their opponent's home ground.  

After a first half dominated by the red-blacks and with several scoring chances, the Garotos do Ninho were successful in the second half.

In the 15th minute, Pablo opened the scoring with a penalty kick. The Flamengo midfielder showed off his talent by beating the goalkeeper with a chipped shot.

Near the end of the match, Douglas Telles scored the second goal through Douglas Telles. The Flamengo striker received a beautiful pass from Fred on the left, and the ball capriciously found the net. The opponent pulled one back in the 44th minute. Full time: 2-1 Mengão.
