Flamengo defeats Madureira and takes second place in the Guanabara Under-20 Cup
3-0 victory over Tricolor Suburbano, away from home, with goals from Pedro Leão, Carbone and Guilherme

Flamengo secured its seventh victory in the U-20 Guanabara Cup. The team defeated Madureira 3-0 away from home at Aniceto Moscoso Stadium this Saturday, with goals from Pedro Leão (penalty), Carbone, and Guilherme. Flamengo's next opponent, in the final round of the qualifying round of the U-20 Carioca Championship, will be Volta Redonda on October 11th at 3 pm at José Bastos Padilha Stadium in Gávea.
With the result, Flamengo reached 22 points and took second place in the GB U-20 Cup, after overtaking Botafogo, who lost 2-1 to Portuguesa, this Friday (3), at the Luso Brasileiro Stadium. Rubro-Negro also reduced Vasco's advantage to three points, who drew goalless with Maricá and leads with 25 points.
In the scorching heat, temperatures reached 30 degrees Celsius in Madureira, Flamengo scored the first goal in the 35th minute of the first half. Forward Pedro Leão scored from the penalty spot. Coach Bruno Pivetti's team increased their lead with defender Carbone, who scored the second goal after receiving an assist from Guilherme in the 34th minute. After providing the pass for Flamengo to extend their lead, Guilherme capitalized on a through ball received by Alan to seal the lead in the 40th minute.
In addition to the Carioca, Flamengo will compete in the Under-20 Brazil Cup in the second half of the 2025 season. The debut will be against Porto Vitória, from Espírito Santo, on October 22, at 15 pm, in Gávea.
