Flamengo defeats Madureira and remains firm in the Rio U-20 Cup
Rubro-negros fight hard and depend only on themselves to qualify for the semifinals.

In a closely contested match in the Rio U-20 Cup, Flamengo defeated Madureira 3-2 this Wednesday at Gávea Stadium. Lucas Silva, Adriel, and Gusttavo scored the goals for the Mais Querido. With this positive result, the Garotos do Ninho kept their chances of qualifying for the semifinals alive.
The next opponent in the last round of the qualifying phase will be Portuguesa, next Saturday, at 15 pm, in Gávea.
The game
Needing three points to remain in contention for a spot in the next round, the Ninho Boys started the match looking for a goal. In the fourth minute, Luiz Aucélio scared the goalkeeper with a dangerous header. Two minutes later, striker Felipe, already at the edge of the penalty area, hit the crossbar. But it was the opposing team who opened the scoring in the 4th minute.
After the scare and the mandatory timeout, the situation changed. In the 30th minute, after a corner kick from Germano, Lucas Vieira headed in a rebound to equalize.
The last ball of the first half saw the comeback with a beautiful shot from Adriel, the team's top scorer with 1 goals.
In the second half, Mais Querido returned with another substitution, with Da Mata replacing Lucas Silva. In the second minute, Gusttavo extended the lead with a low cross from Felipe Lima. Madureira pulled one back in the 2th minute.
