Flamengo beat Madureira 5-3 and qualified for the quarterfinals of the Carioca Sub-20

In the last round of the Guanabara Under-20 Cup, Flamengo beat Madureira 5-3 on Wednesday afternoon (01), in Gávea. Mengão's goals were scored by Petterson, Victor Hugo, Werton, Daniel Cabral and Ryan Luka. With the result, the Most Beloved will face Botafogo in the quarterfinals of Carioca.
The game
The match began with the Ninho Boys looking to attack, posing a threat after just three minutes. Werton passed to Petterson on the left side of the box, and the striker fired wide. In the 9th minute, Mengão opened the scoring! Daniel Cabral passed to Petterson, who burst into the box and fired a shot into the goalkeeper's left corner: 1-0.
Six minutes later, Flamengo extended their lead! Petterson received the ball on the right and sent a low cross into the six-yard box. Victor Hugo connected first time to score Flamengo's second goal: 2-0. Flamengo continued to pressure Madureira and added the third in the 31st minute. Werton received the ball inside the box and struck hard; the ball deflected off the defender and went in: 3-0.
In the 39th minute, Mengão scored another goal in the first half. Madureira's goalkeeper came out of his goal poorly, and the ball fell to Daniel Cabral, who subtly tapped it in for the fourth: 4-0. In stoppage time, Tricolor Suburbano reduced the deficit with Xuxa's shot from outside the box: 4-1.
The red-and-black team returned for the second half with the same intensity and creating attacking opportunities. Five minutes in, Petterson received the ball inside the box, cut past the defender, and shot. The ball went just wide of the post.
In the 14th minute, Petterson won the ball back in the attacking half, advanced, and shot hard from the edge of the box, but the goalkeeper saved it. In the 25th minute, Léo scored Madureira's second goal, making it 4-2. In the 33rd minute, Cauã Augusto scored the third for Tricolor Suburbano, making it 4-3.
In stoppage time, Ryan Luka scored Mengão's fifth goal: 5-3. With the result, Mais Querido is qualified for the quarterfinals of the Carioca Sub-20.
