Flamengo defeated Vasco in the first leg of the Copa Rio U-17 final. The Red-Black team defeated Vasco 2-1 at Gávea this Saturday, with goals from Joshua and Camargo, and will need a draw in the return leg next week to secure the title. 

"Filipe always tells us not to give up. I was happy to score the winning goal, but we still have the second leg. Now we have to train hard to be ready," said Joshua. 

Flamengo conceded an equalizer with just minutes remaining, but with determination, they fought back to win. Joshua secured the crucial victory. 

It could be idol Filipe Luís's first title as a coach. He took over the U-17 team this semester. And the person who showed up at Gávea to support the Ninho Boys and the coach was former player Diego Ribas.

Together, Diego Ribas and Filipe Luís won numerous titles at Flamengo, including two Libertadores and two Brazilian Championships. 

Also present at Gávea was CRF's vice-president of football, Marcos Braz. 

Mengão took to the field with: Léo Nannetti, Wanderson, Yago Melo, Johnny and Luiz Phellipe; Pablo, Lucas Vieira, Joshua and Ryan Roberto; Douglas Teles and Camargo.
