In the fourth round of the Guanabara Under-17 Cup, Flamengo beat Volta Redonda 2-1 on Saturday afternoon (4), in Gávea. Mengão's goals were scored by Euder and Riquelmy. With the result, Mengão remains with 100% success and in the lead of the championship.

The game
The Boys from Ninho started the match with everything and, just three minutes in, Euder opened the scoring after a beautiful free kick on the right edge of the penalty area: 1-0. After the goal, Flamengo continued to pressure Volta Redonda's ball out and try plays on the wings.

In the 31st minute, Riquelmy received the ball deep, burst into the box, and fired a powerful shot straight at the goalkeeper. Mengão was pressing their opponents in search of a second! With the majority of possession during the first half, Mais Querido went into halftime with the advantage.

At the start of the second half, Volta Redonda equalized with Kauã, who took the first shot inside the box: 1-1. Then, Euder took a closed free kick and forced the goalkeeper to put it out for a corner.

With the score tied, the red-and-black team launched an attack, pressing the opponent in their own half. In the 23rd minute, Adriel made a good move down the right, crossed into the box, and Riquelmy sent it over. Soon after, Mengão scored their second! Adriel delivered a beautiful pass to Riquelmy, who controlled the ball and calmly slotted it into the goalkeeper's right corner: 2-1.

In the final minutes, the red-and-black team still had a great opportunity with Mateus Pipino, who burst into the box and fired over the goal. Having improved throughout the match, the Ninho Boys left the field with another victory.

Next appointment
Flamengo's U-17s return to the field next Tuesday (7) to face Gama-DF, at 10 am, in Gávea, for the category's Copa do Brasil.
