This Saturday (30), Flamengo hosted Portuguesa in Gávea, for the 5th round of the Copa Rio Sub-20 and won the match 4-0, guaranteeing a place in the semi-final. 

The game

Flamengo started the game dominating possession, and in the 4th minute, Flamengo had its first opportunity: a cross from Menegatti that went wide. In the 7th minute, Germano had another chance. In a set play, Gustavo passed to Germano, who fired a long-range shot that went wide of the opponent's goal. 

After continuing to hold a higher percentage of possession but lacking much success on the pitch, in the 22nd minute, Adriel led the Rubro-Negro counterattack with speed and shot across goal into the left corner of Portuguesa's goalkeeper, resulting in Flamengo's first goal. Flamengo continued to create opportunities, and in the 37th minute, Guilherme nearly scored a great goal, chipping the opposing defender and shooting wide. Another great chance to score a second goal in the 42nd minute, Gustavo passed to Felipe Lima, but the goalkeeper saved the shot. After intense pressure, in the 47th minute, Victor Thiago took the first-time shot from a corner kick and scored the second goal.

The second half began with a penalty for the opposing team, but Caio Barone made a solid save without a rebound. In the 9th minute, the Garotos do Ninho had three consecutive opportunities to score a third goal, but the opposing defense cleared the ball out of the box. Around the 20th minute, Flamengo's chances began to emerge again, and in the 25th minute, Thiago managed to steal the ball in the opposing half and was fouled just outside the box, resulting in a red card for Portuguesa. In the 40th minute, Gusttavo scored the third goal after a through ball from Thiago, and in the 44th minute, Adriel appeared once again to score the fourth goal after a rebound from Ainoã's header.

Next appointment

With today's victory, Flamengo plays against Fluminense in the semi-final of the Copa Rio Sub-20 next Saturday (6). The Garotos do Ninho finished the group stage in second place in Group A, with 9 points, while the opponent in the next game finished in first place in Group B.
