After winning the second round of the Guilherme Embry Tournament, the Flamengo U-16 team qualified for the final triangular and debuted with a victory against Fluminense, this Tuesday (September 22.09). On the opponent's field, Flamengo won 3-1 and secured first place in the finals.

Encouraged by their last-round victory in the derby against Vasco 3-0 at Gávea, the team led by coach Marcio Torres, assistant to Gilmar Popoca in the under-17 team, secured the win in the opening round of the finals, building their lead with goals from Rafael Carvalheira, Julio César, and Matheus Thuler (penalty). With four points, Flamengo is in first place, followed by Fluminense with one point, and Botafogo, which has yet to score.

By winning the second round, Flamengo qualified for the final phase with one point, the same as Fluminense, the first-round champion. Botafogo qualified for the triangular tournament without any points advantage due to having the highest overall score excluding the top two teams. The teams will face each other in a triangular tournament, playing each other home and away. Whoever wins the most points in this phase takes the title of the competition.

In the next round, Flamengo will face Botafogo on October 6th at 9 AM at the Gávea social headquarters.
