A significant victory for the "Garotos do Ninho" in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. Coming off two negative results, Flamengo defeated Bahia 2-0 this Tuesday at the Reitor Edgard Santos Stadium in Bahia. Nigerian striker Shola scored both Flamengo goals.

With this result, the team led by coach Filipe Luís moved up the standings and remained in the group of eight clubs qualified for the next phase.

Mais Querido's next commitment in the competition will take place next Wednesday (10), where they will face Athletico-PR, at 15 pm, in Gávea.

Needing to get back to winning points in the championship, Mengão started the game very alertly. With good play down the flanks, the team found success in the 26th minute, with a great run from striker Shola, who tapped the ball into the back of the net.

Reinforced by suspended players like Iago and Jean Carlos, and others who were serving the professional team, such as goalkeeper Dyogo Alves and Rayan Lucas, the red-black kids kept up the pace and ten minutes later reached 2-0. After a deep pass from Felipe Teresa, Shola, once again, advanced at great speed down the side and scored his second goal of the match.

With the favorable score, the red-and-blacks managed to maintain their rhythm in the second half and held off any kind of comeback from their opponent. Coach Filipe Luís, around the 35th minute, made five changes across the board, calming the game, and ultimately securing three crucial points.
