In the 16th round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, Flamengo went to Salvador and lost to Bahia 1-0 on Thursday afternoon (03), at the Praia do Forte-BA Sports Center. Despite the defeat, Rubro-Negro remained in fifth place in the championship.

The game
The first half started fairly evenly, with both teams vying for possession. The Ninho Boys managed to hold the ball longer and tightened their defense on Bahia's play. In the 16th minute, after a cross from the left, Gabriel Aires headed the ball into the six-yard box and nearly opened the scoring for Mengão.

Flamengo continued to press in search of the first goal. In the 23rd minute, Max received the ball at the edge of the box and took a shot. The ball grazed the goalkeeper's left post. In the 33rd minute, in a quick counterattack, João Pedro burst into the box from the left and shot at goal, but the ball went wide. The first half ended tied: 0-0.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Bahia came out more attacking and tried to pressure the red-and-black team. Flamengo also tried to attack, but Bahia's defense was closed, making it difficult for the red-and-blacks to attack.

In the end, at 45', Ronaldo opened the scoring for Bahia and sealed the victory for the Bahian team by 1-0.

The Most Beloved returns to the field next Sunday (06) to face Vitória, at 15:30 pm, in Gávea, for the 17th round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship.
