Lucas Silva opens the scoring for Fla
Seeking another victory in the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo went all out against Corinthians and pressed from the start. The match was evenly matched, with both teams putting in good attempts during the opening half.
In the 20th minute, Flamengo created a beautiful play through the middle and Klebinho found Lucas Silva up front, who received the ball, took the defenders out and scored the first red-black goal at Arena Barueri.
After opening the scoring, the "Mais Querido" managed to scare the São Paulo goalkeeper on other occasions, mainly with quick plays down the wings. However, the Corinthians defense blocked each attempt, leaving the score at 1-0 at halftime.
Mengo controls the result and guarantees the three points
The final 45 minutes were a time of focus for Flamengo. Controlling the tempo and the score, the Red-Blacks managed to hold off Corinthians' attempts with the help of their defense and Gabriel Batista. On offense, the "Mais Querido" created good opportunities to extend their lead, but were thwarted by the São Paulo defense.
Late in the second half, in the 34th minute, it was Bill, who came on as a second-half substitute, who was tasked with killing off the match for Flamengo. After a mistake by the opposing defender, the "Boy from the Nest" stole the ball, sprinted forward, and fired a brilliant shot into the back of the net.
In stoppage time, Lincoln still had time to score Flamengo's third. After a Corinthians error in the clearance, the number 9 made a quick individual play and beat the goalkeeper, shooting directly for the Mais Querido 3-0 and an important away victory.
