Rodrigo Frauches, Flamengo's youth defender, had an unusual Sunday. The player, who hadn't played in a while, earned a starting spot in the Fla-Flu match, a preliminary match for the senior team, at Maracanã. He wore the number three jersey, which normally belongs to Michel Pereira, and played. Strong in his marking, he left no room for the Tricolor attack and had a great performance.

"I was happy with my performance, and I'm very grateful for the compliments. Unfortunately, I missed a clear chance to score, but that happens. In the youth team, I was always on the bench, and now that I had this opportunity, I think I did well," he said.

The player was highly praised by his teammates, such as goalkeeper Marcelo Carné.

\

"Football is funny. Our team dominated the game, but I think Frauches was the best player on the field. He came on very well," he analyzed.

However, not everything was rosy for the defender in the derby. Frauches fractured his wrist and is expected to be out of action for about two months.

\

"I think I made the most of the opportunity, but I ended up fracturing my wrist. I'm only supposed to be back in two months. It's annoying, but we're subject to that. There's no way around it," he lamented.

The red-and-black youth team returns to action next Wednesday at 16 p.m. against Olaria in Gávea. The team leads the U-20 Carioca Championship with four wins and one draw in five matches.
