Paying close attention to the market even in the final stretch of a competition as important as the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Junior, in which it is a semi-finalist and fighting for its fourth title, Flamengo's youth football team officially announces the signing of two athletes with great potential and talent, who were being sought after by the main teams in Brazilian football.

Joining the Garotos do Ninho squad are striker Rodrigo Muniz, second-highest scorer in the 15 São Paulo Under-2016 Championship, when he scored 31 goals in 28 games. Muniz, who in 2017, playing in the São Paulo Under-17 Championship at the age of 16, scored 16 goals and was the top scorer for his team, Desportivo Brasil, in the competition. Also joining the squad are the fast and skillful attacking midfielder Bruno Gabriel, who, like Muniz, comes from Desportivo Brasil. Both players were born in 2001.

The Boys of the Nest show that they will continue to bring much joy to the red-black nation throughout the 2018 season. In the first two competitions of the year, the most important in the U-15 and U-20 categories, the Mais Querido reaches the final stretch and with a real chance of winning the title in both. Current champion of the tournament, the U-15 team has qualified for the final of the Copa Brasil de Futebol Infantil (also known as Copa Votorantim) for the third time in four years, and will compete for the title of the main competition in the category in the country this Sunday morning (21) against Palmeiras, in a repeat of the 2017 final, won by the red-black. 

The U-20s continue their fight for their fourth Copinha title. After eliminating Avaí with a truly amazing goal from Vitor Gabriel on Friday night, the Garotos do Ninho are now in the capital of São Paulo, where they will face Portuguesa next Monday (22), at 17:30 pm at Canindé, with live broadcast on SporTV and ESPN Brasil.
