Flamengo's youth soccer is in full swing. Currently, the Gávea boys compete in four competitions: the Mangaratiba Cup (pre-junior category), the State Championship (junior category), the Friendship Cup (junior category), and the Caprina Cup (youth category).

Pre-child
After a 4-0 victory over Itacuruça in the Mangaratiba Cup, the pre-junior team turns its attention to the next challenge, which will take place on Sunday (August 29.08), at 11:30 am, in Muriqui, against Friburguense. It is worth mentioning that Flamengo is the leader of group C, with three points won.

In the youth category, Flamengo also made a strong debut in the State Championship. Led by coach Gilmar Popoca, the Rubro-Negro defeated Volta Redonda 4-0 and became the leader of the group, which also includes Nova Iguaçu, América, Boa Vista, São Cristovão, and Volta Redonda.

Children
Continuing the good moment experienced by the base, the children's category debuted today in the XIII Brazil-Japan Friendship Cup, beating Olaria 2-1 with goals from Aleksandro and Lucas.

"We dominated the entire game and, in the first half, we went up 2-0. In the second half, we relaxed a bit and ended up conceding a goal, but nothing that took the game out of our control," said Flamengo coach Marcus Lourenço. Tomorrow the boys return to the field and will face Bahia at 9:30 a.m. at CFZ.

"Tomorrow's game is very important, as only one of the group qualifies. Our expectation is to fight for the title, especially since new players have arrived, which has given the team a boost," concluded Marcus Lourenço.

Young Adult
In its third edition, the Copa Carpina youth soccer tournament features 16 teams and is being held in Recife. Flamengo debuted last Tuesday (August 24.08) and defeated Expressinho (current two-time champion of the competition) 1-0, with a goal scored by Matheus. The second match was against Natal FC, and the Rubro-Negro didn't forgive: they thrashed their opponent 9-0. The goals were scored by Wallace (4), Matheus (2), Adryan (1) and Mariano (1).
