Red-black youth football wins in all categories

This weekend, Flamengo demonstrated the strength of its youth teams. All age groups, from U-13 to U-20, emerged victorious. Flamengo prevailed in both state championship matches and friendlies. The youth team's results helped them take the lead in the Taça Rio.

The victories began with the U-15s, on Saturday morning (14). At Nivaldo Pereira Stadium, the team led by Dudu Patetuci beat Vasco 1-0. Ryan scored the winning goal in the match valid for the seventh round of the Guanabara Cup. The team is leading the competition.

At the same stadium, the U-17 team also triumphed over Cruzmaltino in the Carioca's first-round final. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Yuri scoring the Rubro-Negro goal. Flamengo won the penalty shootout 4-3. The team, led by coach Gilmar Popoca, is second in the standings.

On Saturday afternoon (14), in Moça Bonita, the junior team got the better of Bangu. With goals from Patrick, Bernardo and Antônio, Flamengo won the match 3-0. With the result, the group trained by Zé Ricardo reached the top of the Taça Rio. Next Wednesday (18), the team debuts in the Brazilian Championship of the category. The first opponent will be Interacional. The match takes place at the Gávea stadium, at 15 pm.

This Sunday (15), the initial categories of the red-black base, under-13 and under-14, went to Juiz de Fora for friendlies against Sport-MG. A week before the start of the Metropolitan Championship, the teams thrashed the Minas Gerais team in both categories. The under-13 won 5-0 with goals from Ryan, Daniel, Thiago Ratinho (2) and Leone. The under-14 won 4-1 with goals from Yan, Arthur Pablo, Pedrinho and Vitor Hugo.
