Gávea Stadium had a busy Saturday (23) with many goals. Four categories of the red-black youth football took to the field (U-13, U-14, U-15 and U-17). All of them won their duels, valid for the Rio Cup of the State Championship, by a landslide. Furthermore, all are undefeated leaders of the second round of the competition.

Opening the proceedings on a very sunny and hot Saturday morning, the U-13 team defeated Tigres 5-0 (João, Fortaleza, Vitor Hugo and França [2]). Afterwards, the U-14 team took to the field and also won, but 7-0 (Victor Hugo, Ryan [2], Oliveira, Werton and Thiago Ratinho [2]. Both games were valid for the fifth round of the Taça Rio, and both teams lead the competition with a 100% record. In the next round, the Garotos do Ninho from both categories face Portuguesa, at CT do Artsul, on Sunday (01.10).

In Saturday's long-distance games, also valid for the Rio Cup, the U-17 and U-15 teams defeated the Volta Redonda teams. 

The first team to take the field was the U-17s. In the 7th minute, Yuri passed to Vitor Ricardo, who fired a dangerous cross to the right of goalkeeper Luís. In the 18th minute, Vitor Ricardo delivered a perfect cross to Yuri, who fired a first-time shot that Luís made a great save. In the 22nd minute, Volta Redonda threatened. Márcio crossed and Joarley fired a first-time shot. The ball bounced off Pedro's post. In the 42nd minute, Joarley made a beautiful individual play and only missed opening the scoring because Pedro made a great save, saving the Red-Blacks. In the next attack, Flamengo's "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) played a clinical attack and opened the scoring. Matheus Alves delivered a beautiful pass that left Vitor Gabriel one-on-one with the goal. He calmly slotted it into Luís's corner and opened the scoring for Flamengo in the final play of the first half.

Early in the second half, Flamengo extended their lead. Two minutes into the game, Vitor Ricardo received a pass from Yuri and simply rolled it in to score the second, leaving the Garotos do Ninho even more comfortable in the duel. In the 12th minute, Luan stole the ball from the opponent on the way out and shot dangerously, but the ball sailed over the goal. In the 28th minute, Flamengo scored the third. Wendel, Vitor Gabriel, and Yuri exchanged passes inside the opponent's box, and the number 10 struck a powerful shot that left Luís with no chance to defend. In the 35th minute, the rout turned. Wendel played a one-two with Vitor Ricardo and fired a classy shot past the goalkeeper to score the fourth for the Mais Querido. There was still time for Yuri to score the fifth, with a bomb from outside the area, in the 38th minute, Souza to score the sixth, in the 40th, with a conscious shot from inside the area and Vitor Ricardo to score his third in the game and the seventh for Rubro-Negro, and Matheus Alves to score the eighth, after a cross from Braian, giving final numbers to the great victory of the Garotos do Ninho by an indisputable 8x0. Undefeated leader of the Taça Rio, the team returns to the field next Thursday (28) to make its debut in the Copa do Brasil of the category, against Ceará, in Fortaleza. The match will be broadcast live on SporTV, at 18:30 pm.

Next, it was the U-15 team's turn to take the field. And the result was unsurprising. Just two minutes into the game, Daniel Cabral was awarded a penalty, and Lázaro fired a powerful shot to open the scoring. In the 2th minute, Volta Redonda threatened with a deflected free kick in the six-yard box, but Bernardo made an excellent, reflex save to prevent the Steel City team from equalizing. In the 19nd minute, Noga delivered a beautiful pass to Lázaro, who skillfully tapped it past the goalkeeper to score the Rubro-Negro's second goal of the game. In the 22th minute, Mayquinho delivered a superb pass to Marcos Felipe, who chipped the ball past the goalkeeper and extended the lead, adding the third for the Garotos do Ninho. The next play brought another. Marcos Felipe took a shot from outside the box; the ball deflected off the defense and fell to Gabriel dos Santos, who scored the fourth goal in the first half. 

The second half was more measured and controlled by Flamengo. In the 12th minute, Mayquinho took a chance from the edge of the box, after a good exchange of passes, and nearly scored another. The fifth goal came in the 16th minute. Lázaro played a one-two with Mayquinho and skillfully chipped the ball over the goalkeeper to score his third of the match. Volta Redonda created significant danger in the 28th and 29th minutes, but goalkeeper Bernardo excelled, making some great saves and ensuring the opponents remained scoreless throughout the day. In the 40th minute, Carlos scored the sixth goal for the Mais Querido, rounding off a magical afternoon of red-and-black football in Gávea. Combining the four games, the team scored 26 goals and scored none against the Garotos do Ninho, who remain steadfast in pursuit of their goals in the 2017 season.
