Ninho Boys seek qualification for the Copinha quarterfinals
Mengão faces Botafogo-SP at 19:15 pm in Osasco, with free entry
By Victor andrade - inWithout much time to rest, the Boys of the Nest return to the field once again for the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. 100% in the Copinha, the Boys of the Nest face Botafogo-SP this Wednesday (17) in the quarterfinals of the competition, at 19:15 pm. The match will be at the José Liberatti Municipal Stadium, in Osasco, with broadcast by CazéTV, on Youtube.
The Rubro-Negro's campaign has seen five wins, with ten goals scored and only three conceded. There were three triumphs under Mario Jorge in the group stage, and after the category coach traveled with 12 other players to Rio de Janeiro to prepare for the professional Carioca matches, Raphael Bahia maintained his consistency in the knockout stages. Previously an assistant coach in the Copinha, the current Flamengo team manager echoed what was said throughout the preparation phase: Flamengo enters every competition to compete for the title and show its strength.
"Flamengo enters every competition they compete in to win. So it's not a matter of dreaming; I think Flamengo plays to be champions, and that's what we'll strive for step by step. We know how tough our opponents are, and we have another one in Botafogo de Ribeirão Preto. But we're aiming for another final and the chance to bring another title to the club."
The Boys of the Nest have already lifted four Copinhas in their history (1990, 2011, 2016, and 2018), and are aiming for their fifth title in 2024. After another record-breaking season, with 44 trophies lifted in 2023, Flamengo is seeking its first in one of the country's top youth soccer competitions. They are committed to developing winning athletes and delivering as many players as possible to professional football.
Before that, grit, love, and passion must be unleashed on Wednesday night against Botafogo-SP. If they qualify, the Red-Blacks could face Aster or Guaratinguetá in the quarterfinals.
