Flamengo's youth football team established itself on the pitch in 2024 with two unprecedented victories: the Libertadores and the U-20 World Cup. And with each year, the Nin Boysho consolidate themselves more as the main force in the development of young, winning talents in Rio de Janeiro. This weekend (Saturday and Sunday), the U-15 (against Fluminense) and the U-17 (against Vasco) tême chance to start at the front in the finals of the Carioca Championship in each category, and put the Rubro-Negro DNA on the field in search of two more titles. 

Both teams won the Guanabara Cup for their best performance in the first phase of the competition. Therefore, they play their first match away and will decide the Carioca championship title in Gávea. On Saturday, Mengão U-15 faces Flu.Minas Gerais at 9 a.m. in Xerém, and on Sunday it will be Flamengo's U-17s' turn to face Vasco at 10 a.m. at the Artsul Training Center. Both matches will be broadcast on FlaTV. 

The retrospect of the two categories, de finishing the first phase in first place and qualifying for the final, shows what the 2024 season was like for the Nest Boys: reaching as many finals as possible. At the reregional, there were 17 title disputes in 21 competitions, with nine glasses being raised. In international competitions, a tonic is similar: dez competitions, five titles and a runner-up spot. Of these titles, the highlights include the U-20 Libertadores, beating Boca Juniors Juniors in Uruguay, the U-20 World Cup against Olimpyacos at Maracanã, both of them turned around.  

The number may even increase. In the Rio Cup of the Under-13 Metropolitan Championship, Mengão defeated Fluminense 5-1 away from home in the first leg of the semi-final. Yesterday (13), it was the U-11s' turn to also win a classic with a comeback and a rout. The Ninho Boys won 5-2 against Botafogo in the first game of the Edilson Silva Cup semifinal.
