On the day that marked the 128th anniversary of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, the Garotos do Ninho (Nest Boys) gave another reason to celebrate. Mengão's U-06 team won the Copa Rio Kids Festival on the 15th, going undefeated, defeating América 1-0 with a goal from Davi Luca.

The Ninho Boys didn't concede a goal in the competition and had the best attack, scoring 13 goals, in a 5-game campaign, winning 4 and drawing 1. Mengão also received several individual awards: Heitor, as best player; Pedro, as best goalkeeper; and Bruno Leonardo, as best coach.
