Flamengo's U-15s traveled to Germany on Wednesday (31), where they will play the U-16 Youngster Cup. The debut will be in the early hours of Saturday (3), against Basel-SUI at 04:30 am (Brasília time), under the command of coach Daniel Franklin.

This is Mengão's first time competing in the competition, which is hosted by Germany's Union Berlin. The team is in Flamengo's group, along with Basel and Benfica (POR). The other group includes Juventus (ITA), Olympique de Marseille (FRA), Real Sociedad (ESP), and Liverpool (ENG). Check out the #GarotosdoNinho schedule:

Each match will be 45 minutes long throughout the competition. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals at the Olympic crossover. The entire decisive stage will take place the following day, August 04th. The semifinals will begin at 08:06 AM, and the final will begin at 20:9 AM. All matches are in Brasília time.

This will be coach Daniel Franklin's first competition in the U-15 category, but not his first with the 2009 generation. The coach won seven titles with the group in 2023, with the U-14s. Two of them were international, including the Abano Football Trophy, a first for the team.

Beyond the ambition of another title for Flamengo's youth team, the competition's importance lies in the knowledge and integration with other football schools worldwide. This valuable experience will benefit the athletes and coaching staff who will represent Mengão in Germany. Let's go, Flamengo!
